Zooma VR

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Gizmoplay Ltd ("we", "us" or "our") handles personal information in connection with Zooma VR, including Zooma VR: Deluxe Edition, its downloadable content, the website zoomavr.com, and customer support. It applies across supported platforms, including Steam, Meta Quest and Oculus, and PICO. Features and data handling can differ by platform and game version.

Gizmoplay Ltd is the data controller for the personal information we process for the purposes described in this policy. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.

At a glance. The game processes VR input to let you play, saves progress and settings, and sends installation and gameplay analytics. Steam features can also involve cloud saves, content ownership information and your Steam display name. Information linked to a device or display name is not necessarily anonymous.

Deleting your data. See Deletion and your choices for how to make a request and how local and platform data are handled.

1. Information we process and why

Game progress, settings and player names

The game stores information such as completed levels, scores, stars, best times, preferences and the player name used in local score tables. This lets you continue playing, keep your preferences and compare results on your device. Other people using the same game profile or device may see those names and scores. You can use a nickname rather than your real name.

Save data is stored on your device. On Steam, game progress can also be sent to and retrieved from Steam Cloud when it is enabled. A device or platform may separately back up app data under its own settings. Cloud storage is not available in every edition, and deleting a local save does not necessarily delete a cloud copy.

Platform information and purchases

On Steam, the game checks whether downloadable content is owned, installed or downloading so it can make the appropriate chapters available. The Steam edition also reads your Steam display name and includes it in an analytics event. Your display name may identify you if you use a real name or a name linked to your other accounts.

Stores process purchases and manage your platform account. We do not receive your full payment card details from purchases made through those stores. Using a Meta or PICO headset does not, by itself, mean that we receive all the information in your platform account. The headset and store providers separately process account, device and service information under their own privacy policies.

VR input

The game uses headset and controller positions, orientations and button or control input on your device to display the VR scene, aim, shoot and interact with menus. This input is processed locally for gameplay. The analytics events described below contain game statistics and device information, not recordings of your head or controller movements. Your headset's own tracking and operating-system services are governed by the platform provider's policy.

Installation and gameplay analytics

On first launch, the game sends a device identifier supplied by the game engine to our service at gizmovr.com to measure installations. The connection also exposes your IP address to the receiving service. A local flag records a successful report; clearing app data or reinstalling can cause the report to be sent again.

The game integrates Unity Analytics to help us understand how it is used, balance difficulty and investigate problems. Events include the platform, store and headset model; chapters and levels started, completed, failed or exited; time spent; scores, stars, combos, shots, bonus drops and bonus use. In the Steam edition, this also includes the Steam display name described above.

Unity's services can also process technical information such as device or installation identifiers, IP address, device and operating-system information, app version and session information. The information received depends on the game version, platform and service configuration. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy for its own processing and privacy options.

Support correspondence

If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as your name, platform, description of a problem, screenshots or diagnostic logs. We use this information to answer you, troubleshoot issues and handle privacy requests. Please send only what is needed and avoid including passwords or payment card details.

Website visits

Our website and hosting services process connection information, such as IP address, requested page, browser information and access time, to deliver and protect the site. The zoomavr.com home page uses Google Analytics to measure visits and website use. Google Analytics can use cookies and similar identifiers and receive information about pages visited, interactions, browser and device characteristics, and your IP address in the connection.

This privacy policy page does not load analytics scripts or third-party fonts. You can manage cookies through your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on on supported browsers. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services. Browser controls do not control analytics inside the game.

2. Who receives information

Information is processed by us and by the services needed for the activities above: Unity for game analytics; Google for website analytics; our website, server-hosting and email providers for delivery, security and support; and Steam for its content and cloud-save features. Access within our business is limited to people who need the information for those purposes.

Service providers acting on our behalf process information for the services they provide to us. Platform operators and providers may also act independently for their own account, billing, security and other services, as explained in their policies:

We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to investigate abuse, protect legal rights or respond to a valid legal request. If the game or our business is transferred, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable privacy protections and notice requirements.

4. Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here. The relevant criteria are the type of information, whether the feature or support matter remains active, whether the information is still necessary for its stated purpose, and any legal duty or need to resolve a dispute.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it no longer identifiable. Backup copies may remain until replaced or removed through the relevant backup cycle. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information; no method of transmission or storage can guarantee complete security.

5. International processing

The services described here can process information outside your country, including in countries where privacy laws differ. Where a transfer requires safeguards under applicable law, appropriate transfer arrangements are required, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections. You can contact us for information about the destinations and safeguards relevant to your data.

6. Deletion and your choices

To request deletion of personal information we control, email help@gizmovr.com with the subject "Zooma VR data deletion". This route is available to players on every supported platform, including Meta Quest and Oculus, Steam, and PICO.

  1. Tell us which platform and game version you use, if known, and whether your request concerns game analytics, support correspondence, website information or saved data.
  2. Include the display name or email address relevant to the request, if applicable. Do not send your password, payment details or identity documents with your initial request.
  3. We will explain any additional information reasonably needed to verify your request and locate the records. A name or email address alone may not identify analytics associated with a device identifier.

We will delete information covered by a valid request that is under our control and involve our service providers where necessary. We respond within the time required by applicable law and will explain any permitted exception, retention requirement or inability to identify a record. We may retain limited information needed to comply with law, establish or defend legal claims, or record that we handled your request.

Local and cloud data: we cannot remotely erase files stored only on your device. Contact us for instructions for your platform. Steam Cloud or other platform backups may restore a local save, so those copies may need to be managed separately. We will help distinguish data we control from data independently controlled by your platform provider and direct you to its request process where needed.

Future collection: deleting previously collected information does not automatically stop new information being generated if you continue using the game or website. Contact us about an objection or withdrawal of consent as well as deletion. You can also manage available device permissions, platform privacy settings, cloud-save settings and browser storage. Disabling a required input or deleting a save can affect the associated feature or remove your progress.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, withdraw consent, or receive certain information in a portable format. Some jurisdictions also provide rights to opt out of specified disclosures or uses of personal information and to appeal a refusal of a privacy request.

To exercise a right or appeal our response, use the contact details below. An authorised representative may contact us on your behalf, subject to appropriate verification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

We do not use your personal information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

8. Children and families

Zooma VR is intended for players aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. Players must also meet any higher minimum age required by their store or headset provider.

Players and parents should follow the age requirements, age ratings and parental-account rules for their store and headset. A store age rating describes game content; it does not replace privacy protections required for children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the game, or that we have otherwise processed your child's information without an authorisation required by law, use the deletion request process. We will investigate, delete information under our control where required, and help with requests involving our service providers. Platform parental controls can also help manage game access and platform privacy settings.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the game, our services or applicable requirements change. The current version will be available on this page with its updated date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required by law.
